‘WE PLANT THE SEEDS, BUT GOD GIVES THE HARVEST!’
Let both grow together until the HARVEST. At that time I will tell the harvesters: First collect the weeds and tie them in bundles to be burned; then gather the wheat and bring it into my barn.’”
— Matthew 13 : 30 (NIV)
Our Creator has the most beautiful approach to teaching, the method of parables, which could instill divine meaning in the minds of its listeners through simple yet prevalent earthly contrasts. Matthew 13 : 24 – 30 accounts the ‘Parable of the Wheat and the Tares (weeds)’, a parable which has its implications even today. Time and again, Lord JESUS spent hours and days to make people understand the KINGDOM OF HEAVEN and what could it be compared to.
In this parable, we find a man who sowed good seed in his field but while his servants were asleep, his enemies came and sowed weeds among the wheat. Days rolled into months and it was time to harvest. As soon as the servants were aware of what has happened in the field, they were perturbed and summoned the owner. Do you know what the owner instructed? Let’s find out!
BURN THE WEEDS..
The owner of the field knew instantly who must have planted the weeds. Yet he let the weeds grow along with the wheat. Why would he do that?
Sometimes, when we find people sinning and hurting the peace in our society, we could have wondered, ‘Why LORD?..If you are GOD, why do you allow these people to sin?..Why is injustice still prevalent if you exist?’…Well, my friends, always remember that the GREAT OWNER (OUR LORD) OF OUR FIELD (WORLD) isn’t blind to the activities of the tares…Instead HE is allowing the weeds (evil-lovers) to grow along with the wheat (good-seekers) for that DAY OF HARVEST. AND HIS FIRST COMMAND WILL BE TO BURN THE WEEDS IN THE ETERNAL FIRE!
BRING IN THE WHEAT..
As soon as the weeds are removed, it’s time to embrace the wheat. The Owner of the field ordered his servants to bring the bundles of wheat into his barn to be cherished and celebrated with all his kin.
If you are finding it difficult to stay faithful and blameless in the present times of enticing temptations and increasing tribulations, then just remind yourself today ‘I AM WHEAT..PATIENTLY WAITING FOR MY MASTER TO BRING ME INTO HIS BOUNTY!’ Hold on to God’s words with every single breath in your lungs, because when HIS words empower your body, HIS power will rule your soul to avoid the snares of sin and to take you to enjoy the pleasures of HIS ETERNAL BLESSINGS!
Plow your life a little farther
Dig your thoughts a little deeper
Sow your goodness a little greater
Pray for everyone a little harder
Love your enemies a little sweeter
IT’S HARVEST TIME!!
