You all might have heard about ‘Pythagoras’..one of the greatest mathematicians ever!..Did you know that he was one of the earliest vegetarian from the West!?!..Vegetarianism is first mentioned by the Greek philosopher and mathematician Pythagoras of Samos around 500 BCE. In addition to his theorem about right triangles, Pythagoras promoted benevolence among all species, including humans.
‘Pythagoras theorem’ is a very profound work, where we can easily find the measures of the sides of a right-angled triangle. When your middle school teacher showed you how to find the hypotenuse of a right triangle, you probably didn’t get down on your knees and start worshiping him as a god. But when it first happened in ancient Greece, that was pretty much how people reacted. But there’s more to imply from this theorem….
Climb these 2 Steps everyday..
If you wish to increase your scores in any subject..then the first step is to draw the base of the right-angled triangle,i.e. “BEFRIEND the subject”..It might sound illogical but it works. As long as I considered ‘MATH’ as a stranger, I couldn’t do well..but when I tried saying to myself “Come on, it’s just a lonely person..let’s listen to what it says!”…My interest increased and of course my scores doubled even more.
The second step is to keep in touch with your new friend by practising (like a perpendicular line-straight and steadfast) what it says daily..‘PRACTISE’ is the magic wand in a student’s hand..& you need to use it daily to do wonders!..Just like how you spend time chatting and playing with your friends to stay happy, similarly spend a few minutes every day to listen to the subject that has frightened you so far..& I guarantee it will reflect in your HIGH SCORES (like the longest side -hypotenuse).
RACE YOUR BRAIN!
Look at the situation presented in the adjacent diagram and calculate…What will be the distance from the bottom of the wall to the foot of the ladder?.. (Hint- Take help from Pythagoras)..
Waiting for your answers in the comment section below!.. 🙂
So, its time to say ‘NO’ to the fear of failure and ‘YES’ to the upcoming high scores!
#See you next weekend!..Take care!..Do let BrainyBuddy know which subject’s topic you’d like to discuss next!..
